The Troon Links is a collection of three excellent courses - Darley, Lochgreen and Fullarton which play alongside Royal Troon, Portland and Barassie to form a group of six courses that encircles the famous golfing town of Troon. Of these, Darley is a classic uplands links featuring tight fairways and plenty of hazards, and is often touted as one of the toughest course in all of Scotland.
A true links of the wildcat variety which can only be tamed by those relishing a serious challenge, it has feline ferocity and demands the straightest of tee shots to avoid the renowned Scottish hazards of heather, gorse and whin, which are abound. At a little over 6300 yards, Darley is not as long as its sister Lochgreen, but if you score well here, you have played very well indeed.
